Medicine

Medicine is anything that brings healing, growth, or truth to the surface. It is not always sweet on the tongue—it can be bitter, challenging, or uncomfortable. But it always carries a teaching.

From my perspective, everything in life has the potential to be medicine. Every relationship, every loss, every joy, every obstacle. The conversations that open our hearts. The challenges that break us down so we can rebuild stronger. The quiet moments that teach us to listen. Even the detours we never planned for can offer the exact lesson we need.

When we approach life this way, we stop labeling experiences as purely “good” or “bad.” Instead, we ask: What is the medicine here? What is this moment teaching me?

Some medicine is gentle—like the comfort of a friend’s voice or the beauty of a sunrise. Some is fierce—pushing us to shed old skins, to confront our shadows, to grow beyond what we thought possible. But all of it is here for our becoming.

To live seeing everything as medicine is to live awake. It is to walk through the world with open eyes and an open heart, trusting that each moment, no matter how it arrives, is part of the great healing journey of our life.
